Côte-Vertu marked the far edge of my daily journey in 1998.

After a few short months working at the Red Cross head office on Sherbrooke, I was transferred to their new location at 4045 Chemin Côte-Vertu in Ville-Saint-Laurent.

The commute was long — metro, then bus, over an hour each way — and it quickly taught me the value of proximity.

By April of that year, I was back at Préfontaine, much closer to home. But for a brief time, Côte-Vertu was the end of the line — literally and figuratively.
